Dating over 60 in New Zealand is great fun and gets you out and about meeting new people, but don’t forget…

Avoid the tomato factor

We all have sensitive skin in our 60’s, so protection from the sun is vital. We suggest using a sun screen with a sun protection level of 30 or maybe even higher. Applying sun block to your face, ears and neck is important, but don’t forget your arms and any exposed skin on your legs.

Hat should do it

Taking a hat out on a sunny day is a great idea. A hat will help defend your head from intense sunlight, protecting you skin and reflecting heat away from your head.

Sunglasses

Ok, so maybe you don’t want to look like a 60+ rock ‘n’ roll star on your first date, but wearing shades is essential in any bright sunlight. Buying a pair of sunglasses won’t break the bank these days and you should be able to find an affordable pair with a high level of UV protection (100% would be best). If the packaging doesn’t state any level of UVA or UVB protection, move on to the next pair.

Water… water…

You might not need gallons and gallons of water during the New Zealand summer, but it’s always a great idea to have at least a small bottle with you. Dehydration can creep up on you unaware’s while you’re chit chatting on your sunny date.
